A craftsman for the web.

I (copied out and) wrote my first program in 1985. It was called “Zahlen raten” – guess the number – and came from the little booklet that accompanied my C64. Bigger and, above all, self-written projects soon followed.

Since 2000 I have been building websites professionally – back then still with the notorious table layouts. I watched in amazement as CSS arrived in the browsers and the CSS Zen Garden opened in 2003.

Since then I have planned, designed, programmed and maintained countless websites, both front-end and back-end. And got to know pretty much every mistake first-hand along the way.

The range of clients I have been privileged to work for reaches from the small hair salon around the corner to well-known names such as heise c’t and global corporations like KWS.

These days my particular interest lies in building freely scalable HTML and CSS – a field still too often neglected by many developers.
